A Message From Our CEO

Updated: 4 days ago

Our primary focus, now and throughout this public health crisis has been the safety and well-being of our members, staff, families, and community. As the states that we provide services in determine their next steps for the re-opening of businesses and public locations, VIABILITY will continue to monitor guidelines from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and other public health officials. Here’s what we are doing to ensure that we continue to provide the best service: • While offices and locations are closed, we are currently providing virtual and modified services for most of our programs. Staff continue to engage with members through Zoom, Google Classroom, over the phone, and by delivering meals and activity packets to members’ homes in a safe and socially distanced way. • There are some programs that still require in person services such as our in home supports and group home programs. We have been dedicated in acquiring proper Personal Protective Equipment to keep our members and direct care staff safe through a delivery of PPE from the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and National Guard, personal donations of equipment from staff and board members, and our own staff making over 500 masks to date. • Finally, we are beginning to shift from a reaction phase to moving forward and growing in the “new normal.” New procedures and protocols are being developed to prepare our offices for a safe reopening. We are also evaluating the way our services have changed, determining whether they help support our members in better ways than before, and forming new best practices for the future. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the Vice President for your area:
